Counseling Services

Counseling with Amber PLLC works with you to create a supportive and collaborative space to help you better understand yourself, your emotions, your patterns, and what your nervous system has been carrying for a long time. Together, we’ll explore what’s showing up in your life (past, present, and future) regardless of what it is. Some common focuses of therapy include anxiety, burnout, ADHD overwhelm, relationship stress, life transitions, trauma responses, feeling stuck in the same cycles, and more.

Therapy gives you space to breathe, reflect, and build tools that fit your real life so you can feel more grounded, clear, and connected to who you are.

Therapy is not a quick fix or a place where you’re told what to do. It’s not 'one size fits all', and it isn’t about “being fixed,” because you aren’t broken. While we will offer guidance, education, and strategies, the work is about helping you strengthen your own insight and confidence so you can make meaningful changes over time. Progress can be steady and gentle, and it often happens both in session and in the small choices you practice in between.

The goal is for therapy at Counseling with Amber PLLC to be a space where you feel supported, challenged in the right ways, and empowered to grow with clarity and compassion.

A diagnostic evaluation (also called an intake assessment) is the first step in starting therapy. It’s a structured, supportive conversation where I take time to understand what brings you in, what symptoms you’ve been experiencing, and how your mental health has been impacted in daily life. We’ll review your current concerns, relevant history, potential goals for therapy, and any past diagnoses, therapy, or medication experiences so I can create an accurate clinical picture and recommend the best next steps. This is not a test, and you don’t need to have everything figured out. It’s simply the foundation we build together so your care feels clear, personalized, and intentional from the start.

A treatment planning session is a collaborative appointment where we review what you want to work on in therapy and create a clear, personalized roadmap for your care. We’ll identify your main goals, discuss what progress could realistically look like for you, and choose strategies that fit your needs, pace, and lifestyle. This session helps ensure therapy feels purposeful and aligned, so you leave with more clarity, direction, and confidence about what we’re focusing on moving forward.

Accommodation letters are written clinical documents that support a client’s request for reasonable adjustments at work, school, or in another setting due to a mental health related need. These letters typically confirm that you are under my care and briefly describe the type of accommodations being requested (such as flexibility with scheduling, a quieter workspace, extended time for tasks, or breaks as needed), without sharing unnecessary personal details. Accommodation letters and other documentation may be requested at any time for an administrative fee. Please see the FAQ page for more details.

**Letters are provided for established clients only, are not guaranteed, and are completed when clinically appropriate based on the information gathered in therapy.

An Emotional Support Animal (ESA) is a pet that provides comfort and emotional support that helps reduce symptoms related to a mental health condition. ESAs do not require specialized training to perform tasks, and they are different from service animals. While a service animal is trained to complete specific tasks related to a disability, an ESA’s role is to support emotional wellbeing through companionship and grounding. ESA documentation may be requested with a diagnostic evaluation for an added fee. Please see the FAQ page for more details.
